The partnershipTwo Systems. One Workflow.
Filevine runs the case. Coastal answers the coverage question. Now both happen in the same window.

Where the case already lives
A legal work platform for law firms and beyond. Intake, documents, deadlines, and billing live in one system of record, with LOIS, Filevine's legal AI, working across the caseload.
- One system of recordMatters, documents, deadlines, and client communication in a single place.
- Built for plaintiff workPersonal injury and mass tort workflows, not a general business tool bent into shape.
- An open integration platformA published API and a catalog of vendor integrations firms already rely on daily.

Where The Answer Comes From
Policy limit analysis and defendant due diligence for plaintiff attorneys nationwide. An early, researched read on coverage, and on whether there is anything to recover beyond the policy, so cases get triaged on evidence instead of instinct.
- Policy limit analysisA data-driven read on available coverage, personal and commercial, for triaging cases before you file.
- Defendant due diligenceProperty, assets, business affiliations, liens, judgments, and a recoverability picture on the named party.
- Built to connectCoastal's OpenAPI moves orders and completed reports between systems. Filevine is the first case management platform connected.
Delivering Advantage At Scale
What Filevine firms get on the other side of that row.
The integrationFour Steps. No Second Window.
Set up once from your Coastal dashboard. After that, every case is sent and returned inside the Filevine project your team already has open.
Request your account
Fill out the short form on this page. The Coastal team opens your firm's account and walks you through the dashboard.
Connect Filevine
Open the Filevine integration in your Coastal dashboard. Your Filevine Account Admin signs in once per firm and picks the project types you send from. About 15 minutes.
Send a case from Filevine
Add a row in the Coastal Policy Limit section of the project, pick the defendant and case type, and say whether you know the carrier. Details fill in from the project.
Results land in the same row
Status, result, and report link come back to the project. Coastal never sees your Filevine password, and your Admin can revoke access anytime.
A Coastal integration for LOIS
LOIS is Filevine's Legal Operating Intelligence System, the layer that reads across a firm's matters and acts on them. Coastal is planning to build it next, so a policy limit analysis can be asked for and returned in the same place your team asks LOIS everything else.
- Connect with CoastalRequest an analysis the way you would ask LOIS anything else about the matter.
- Answers land in the fileThe finished report is filed to the matter, linked back to the request that made it.
- Open to Filevine firmsPlanned for any Filevine firm connected to Coastal.
